The collection consists of various letters concerning train and railway-related issues from 1910 to 1953; train part blueprints; some financial data from 1937 to 1944; letters and documents from 1922 to 1952 regarding brake parts; and letters and documents from 1936 to 1948 regarding bar and roller bearings.

Photographs of Fort Riley, Kan. and other locations during World War II and the years directly following. The photographs appear to have been taken mostly by a sergeant who trained at Fort Riley and was later sent overseas to serve in Europe and Japan. Several photographs show a three-vehicle wreck in a roadside ditch 33 kilometers from Landshut, Germany, potentially as part of "Exercise Normal," a large scale war maneuvers training event in the fall of 1948.

This collection consists of two typed letters from Virgil Thomson to Wilfred Z. Thompson; two typed, signed quotations from Thomson about composers John Cage and Ned Rorem; a photographic postcard of Thomson; and a signed bookplate.

Warren Knaus, or Kraus, lived in McPherson, Kansas and was interested in the study of entomology. This collection contains 33 letters dated 1896-1935, written by entomologists in Canada to W. Knaus. The letters delve into the study of insects.
